Individual Counseling
“I was always looking outside of my self for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time.”
Anna Freud
Wherever you are on your life's journey, I provide a safe, empowering, and empathic therapeutic relationship; confidence in our work together; and my sincere commitment and support to the healing of your wounds, achievement of positive changes, and reaching your goals and dreams.
If you are stuck in a vicious cycle of self-defeating thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, psychotherapy can help remove the obstacles, and restore vitality, self-esteem, self-confidence, feelings of well being, and connection to life. With enhanced understanding of yourself, and the ways you have coped with, and understood your experiences, counseling can aid in making informed choices and reveal the potential for fulfillment of your goals.
If any of the following issues are casting a shadow over your ability to enjoy life, counseling can help bring about the changes you desire:
• Complex Trauma such as Childhood Sexual Abuse
• Post Traumatic Stress - PTSD
• Substance Abuse and Addictions
• Neglect, Betrayal, and Abusive Relationships
• Age Related Changes and Difficulties
• Anxiety and Depression
• Difficult Life Transitions
• Low self-esteem
• Grief and Loss
• Intimacy and relationship problems
• Work related problems
The frequency of sessions depends on the nature of your concerns, the urgency of your problems, and your personal situation. Thus, we may agree on biweekly, weekly, or bimonthly sessions.
Separate from, or simultaneously with, individual counseling, you may find it beneficial to attended group therapy. If group counseling appears as the right alternative for you, please click on “Group Therapy” to see the groups I am currently providing.
